In Kharkiv region, the schedule of power outages has been extended this morning, with network restrictions on electricity consumption in Kharkiv and Kryvyi Rih, and over 800 consumers in Sumy and Kharkiv regions without gas due to shelling. Yesterday, there was a shortage in the power grid, there was an emergency supply of electricity from neighboring countries, the Ministry of Energy and NPC Ukrenergo reported on Wednesday, UNN writes.
Details
"Due to network restrictions on the transmission system operator's lines, outage schedules were applied in Kharkiv region and for industry in Kryvyi Rih, and the restrictions are still in effect today," the Ministry of Energy noted.
"In the morning, the outage schedules in Kharkiv region were extended. The reason is the increase in consumption due to the cold snap. About 251 thousand consumers were cut off at the same time. In Kryvyi Rih, consumption limits for industrial consumers are still in effect," Ukrenergo added.
In other regions, consumption restrictions for household consumers were not applied.
"Yesterday, on April 16, during the evening peak hours of consumption, the power system did not have enough electricity - there was a deficit," Ukrenergo said.
According to the Ministry of Energy, during the evening peak load hours, emergency electricity was supplied from Romania, Poland and Slovakia. Commercial electricity imports are planned for the current day. No exports are planned.
"The power system is currently operating in a stable and balanced manner," the Ministry of Energy said.
"Emergency repair works continue at thermal power plants after the massive missile attack on April 11. The operation of solar power plants is hampered by dense cloud cover in all regions. The planned repair campaign continues at nuclear power plants," Ukrenergo noted.
According to Ukrenergo, consumption is growing rapidly due to the cold snap and cloudy weather. This morning, its level is 6.5% higher than yesterday.
From 19:00 to 22:00, Ukrainians are urged to limit the use of powerful energy-intensive appliances.
Outages due to shelling, bad weather and other reasons
Due to the hostilities, a high-voltage overhead line in Donetsk region was disconnected. After emergency repairs, the line is back online.
As a result of shelling in Kharkiv and Sumy regions, gas distribution pipelines were damaged. As a result, 370 households in Kharkiv region and 430 in Sumy region were left without gas supply, the ministry said.
An overhead line in Kharkiv region was disconnected for technical reasons, which resulted in a blackout of high-voltage substations and overhead lines supplying residential consumers in Kharkiv and the region. The power was restored within two hours. At night, there were short-term emergency outages of high-voltage lines in Kharkiv region again, and power supply to consumers is being restored, the agency noted.
According to Ukrenergo, about 17 settlements in Kyiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions are without power in full and partially due to rain and squally winds. 107 consumers in Zaporizhzhya region remain without power. Repair crews are working to reconnect the power supply.
As of this morning, according to the NPC, 423 settlements are without power. Due to hostilities: there are power outages in Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv regions. Due to technological disruptions: there are power outages in Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
Situation at ZNPP
