Nehammer said the conversation with Trump quickly turned to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
"Trump asked me to give my assessment because I was one of the few who met with Putin and Zelensky. He also shared his point of view with me. And after that, we started talking very quickly about how important peace is and how important it is that the war stops," Nehammer said.
He also suggested Austria as a place for possible peace talks.: "I have included Austria in the game as a good place to negotiate, as a neutral country.
According to the publication, Trump was very well informed about Austria's positions and Nehammer's military past.
"I got the impression that he was thinking about ending the war in a very emotional, positive way... I believe that he is able to develop a new dynamic again," said Not Hammer in response to a question about whether Trump wants to reduce military support for Ukraine.
