In Latvia, allied fighter jets shot down a drone that entered the country's airspace, the National Armed Forces of Latvia reported on Monday, according to UNN.

As noted by LSM, this is the first time a drone that entered the country has been shot down in Latvia, and it was done by allies from France.
In the Rēzekne and Ludza municipalities of Latvia, which are located directly near the country's eastern border and border Russia, an airspace threat was announced on Monday morning; warnings of a possible threat were also issued in the Alūksne and Balvi municipalities, also in the eastern part of the country. Residents of these areas were sent messages via the cellular alert system, the National Armed Forces reported. NATO Air Policing mission fighter jets were activated in Baltic airspace.
At around 9:40 AM, an orange alert level was declared in the Rēzekne and Ludza municipalities due to a detected threat in the airspace.
After the unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down in Nautrēni Parish, the airspace threat announced Monday morning in the Rēzekne, Ludza, Alūksne, and Balvi municipalities ended; however, new warnings were issued in the first half of the day in the Krāslava municipality, located in the southeastern part of Latvia bordering Belarus, as well as in the Ludza, Rēzekne, and Balvi municipalities.
The National Armed Forces of Latvia previously reminded that as long as Russian aggression against Ukraine continues, it is possible that cases where a foreign unmanned aerial vehicle enters or approaches Latvian airspace may recur.
