Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urged Hasidic pilgrims to take into account the impossibility of guaranteeing security due to the war with Russia. Visitors are advised to consider the curfew and movement restrictions.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urges Hasidic pilgrims planning to make a pilgrimage to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah to take into account the impossibility of guaranteeing full security for foreign citizens on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the Ukrainian MFA, writes UNN.

The full-scale aggression of russia against Ukraine, which has been ongoing for more than four years, constant massive missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities, civilian and transport infrastructure, constant russian terror, sabotage and provocations pose real threats to people's lives and safety. Under such conditions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urges Hasidic pilgrims planning to make a pilgrimage to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah to take into account the impossibility of guaranteeing full security for foreign citizens on the territory of Ukraine

- the statement reads.

The MFA also reminded that a legal regime of martial law is in effect in Ukraine. In case of visiting Uman despite the warnings of the Ukrainian authorities, pilgrims should take into account restrictions on freedom of movement, curfew, increased patrolling and the ban on holding mass events, and coercive measures may be applied to violators.

In addition, when planning the trip, other significant risks should be taken into account. Land transport connections with Ukraine remain overloaded, and due to shelling, significant traffic delays are possible. In Uman itself, there is a lack of sufficient civil protection shelters for the mass stay of pilgrims, as well as a shortage of medical personnel and facilities for providing qualified medical care.

For additional clarifications, the MFA advises contacting the National Police, the State Emergency Service, the Border and Customs Services, as well as the Cherkasy Regional State Administration and the Uman City Council. Pilgrims who still decide to arrive in the city are recommended to familiarize themselves in advance with the rules for paying the tourist tax.

Recall

According to the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, in 2025, about 10,000 pilgrims took part in the event.
