This year, UAH 1.5 billion was raised from the local budgets of Odesa Oblast for territorial and military defense. One third of this was allocated for the repair of a military hospital, which is still underway. Also, most of the funds were spent on the needs of the Defense Forces, but there is currently a balance of reserve funds. This was stated during a press conference by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, UNN reports.
"A lot of money was spent on repairing the military hospital, which is currently underway. We allocated some of the funds to purchase some medicines. I still have the balance. But most of the money went, of course, to the defense forces," he said, adding that they managed to purchase, among other things, 5,000 drones.

In addition, Kiper organized systematic support for the military from the communities. Now the communities submit their proposals to the region, and the region, in turn, satisfies the requests of the command.
"And today, as the head of the DIA, I control it, because I receive requests. And if the requests come from some unit commanders, I don't even consider them, I say, "Go to your command to make it systematic and controlled," the head of the DIA added.
Kiper also said that this year there was no purchase of candy for children. But they were not left without sweets.
"We have found our own mechanism with the association of community heads - we will teach children to make these sweets. And we will spend the money saved on drones. Seriously, to buy 3,000 packages of candy? You won't understand me, and I won't understand myself. Today we are postponing the repair of the road to the port. We understand that by investing 1 million there, we will earn 10 million. So what, are we going to buy candy at the same time, spending 3-5 million on it? We all have children, they need to have a holiday. But we will organize it differently. By the way, the same applies to the purchase of nails, etc. I would like to note that local businesses often fill such needs by helping with nails, boards and other necessary materials," says the head of the OVA.
