The Victory Day parade on May 9 in Moscow, which has traditionally been a symbol of Russia's "military greatness," will be held this year in the most modest format in the entire history of the Russian Federation and its predecessor, the Soviet Union. This is reported by UNN with reference to CNN.
Details
The celebration will take place without military equipment on Red Square in Moscow due to the "current operational situation," namely the threat of strikes by Ukrainian drones.
Air defense systems have been deployed in the Russian capital, mobile internet and communications are under restrictions, foreign media have had their accreditation to cover the parade canceled altogether, and the list of foreign guests is more than modest compared to previous years.
At the same time, while more and more people in Russian society are openly talking about war fatigue, dictator Vladimir Putin is trying to appear as if he is "keeping the situation under control."
Reminder
In at least 15 Russian regions, they have refused to hold a parade on the occasion of May 9.
At the same time, the head of the occupation "administration" of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, also canceled the "Immortal Regiment" and the "Victory Parade" on May 9 in the region this year. The reason is the "threat from Ukrainian drones."
