A man has been arrested after three people were injured in a knife attack at a railway station, police said.
The department stated that the three victims—Swiss citizens aged 28, 43, and 52—were hospitalized following the attack at the Winterthur railway station.
The suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss man, used a bladed weapon, and the motive is under investigation, police added.
An eyewitness working in a nearby office building told a local newspaper that he heard a man shouting "Allahu Akbar"—which means "God is great" in Arabic—around 08:30 local time before attacking people with a knife.
According to local media reports, a group of schoolchildren was passing through the area at the time, and a school teacher stood in front of them to protect them.
Another eyewitness, a taxi driver, told the Zurich newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung that the man was walking through the station's underpass and attacking people.
Photographs published by Swiss news outlets show several areas around the station cordoned off.
