The new head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Andrea Maldera, will settle in Lviv with his wife. This is his own decision to support Ukraine and its national football team.

The new head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Andrea Maldera, stated that he has decided to live in Ukraine while working with the national team. The coach will move to Lviv with his wife. Maldera announced this during a press conference at the UAF, UNN reports.

Details

"I made the decision to live in Ukraine. It was my decision. Together with representatives of the federation, we evaluated various options for where this could be, in which city. We settled on the city of Lviv. I think that right now, at such a specific moment for Ukraine, it carries a great responsibility. It's not just about me being the kind of coach who only watches matches. Rather, at this time, I would like to offer my help in any activity that the UAF needs,"

Maldera said.

He noted that he wants to make a contribution and help the people who gave him so much five years ago.

"I have many friends in Ukraine, and I would like to do everything that is necessary and possible. As for my family, my wife will move with me, and she will bring the dog. We will talk to the children every evening. But this is life and this is my decision. It is worth noting that no one from the UAF pressured me. This was entirely my personal decision,"

Maldera added.

UAF President Andriy Shevchenko stated: "I will emphasize the fact that to coach the Ukrainian national team today, you must be brave. And the fact that Andrea made the decision for himself to live in Ukraine and pay taxes here—I think he is a brave man."
