During a meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs noted that following leadership changes in certain European countries, Chișinău finds itself in "favorable conditions" for EU accession.
"We haven't set that date yet, but it's clear that we need to move fast. That's why I also think we should act while nobody is against Moldova, because you never know when a government comes that might have, you know, a double position,"
According to her, Moldova has made progress in advancing reforms, while the unrecognized Transnistria "will not be an obstacle" on Moldova's path to joining the bloc.
