The Embassy of India in Tehran reported an attack on the liquefied petroleum gas tanker DISHA in Iran's territorial waters, on board of which were 28 Indian citizens. This is reported by Bloomberg, writes UNN.

According to the diplomatic mission, all crew members are safe, and the embassy maintains constant contact with Iranian authorities and is monitoring the development of the situation.

Separately, the Ministry of External Affairs of India stated that the commercial vessel MV OMORFI was attacked while transiting the Black Sea, reportedly in Russian territorial waters.

According to the ministry, one Indian citizen was killed as a result of the attack, while two other Indians were unharmed. The ministry condemned the strikes on commercial vessels, and the Indian embassy in Russia is already in contact with the relevant authorities.

India called on ships to exercise maximum caution

As Bloomberg notes, these incidents occurred against the backdrop of an escalating security situation on maritime routes due to conflicts in the Middle East.

In this regard, the Directorate General of Shipping of India recommended that all vessels under Indian and foreign flags exercise maximum caution when transiting waters near Yemen, the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, and the southern part of the Red Sea.
