Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 592 children have been killed in Russia. More than 1,700 more have been injured. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets on November 20, on World Children's Day, UNN reports.
On November 20, the world celebrates World Children's Day every year. It was on this day that the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
However, as Lubinets emphasized, they are being violated on a large scale by Russia.
He said that according to official data, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion:
- 592 children died;
- 1702 were wounded;
- 1934 - considered missing;
- 19,546 were deported or forcibly displaced.
Despite this, the Ombudsman noted, Ukraine is working to protect children's rights. In particular, through the efforts of government agencies, international partners and civil society organizations, 1012 children have already been returned from the TOT and Russia.

On November 19, a child died as a result of an enemy attack on the city of Hlukhiv, Sumy region.
On November 11, a mother and three children aged 2 months to 10 years were killed in Kryvyi Rih as a result of hostile shelling.
