The Federal Archive of Germany handed over a hard disk with digitized films from its film archive, which were created at Ukrainian film studios in the early twentieth century, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga. This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Germany, UNN reports.
Details
The films are currently available in the digital reading room of the Federal Archive and will be transferred to the National Oleksandr Dovzhenko Center for preservation, further display and research.
"These unique works of art and documentaries provide a glimpse into Ukraine's centuries-long struggle for independence, as well as the totalitarian Soviet rule of the 1930s and 1940s. There is still a lot of work to be done to research these and other historical sources and decolonize Ukrainian history," thanked the German partners Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.
