On January 31, some regions of Ukraine will still experience above-zero temperatures, but severe frosts will begin on the same day. This was reported by forecaster Natalka Didenko, writes UNN.
On January 31, the daytime air temperature in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia regions, and Crimea will be +1…+5 degrees. At the same time, such warming will be accompanied by rain, wet snow, and strong stormy winds, which will make it uncomfortable.
On Saturday, a new powerful anticyclone will begin to arrive in Ukraine from the north, gradually displacing moist cyclonic air masses. As a result, frosty weather will already prevail in most regions.
The maximum daytime air temperature on Saturday will be -6…-10 degrees, and in the north and west: -7…-12 degrees. The north-easterly wind will be gusty, in places with stormy gusts, which will significantly enhance the feeling of cold.
Precipitation on January 31 is expected in the central regions (except Vinnytsia region), in the south and east of the country. Rain will prevail in the southeast. No significant precipitation is forecast in the western and northern regions.
In Kyiv, the last day of January will end with cold weather: at night, the air temperature will drop to -14 degrees, during the day: to -12.
Further frosts in Ukraine will only intensify. In early February, the air temperature at night can drop to -20…-28 degrees. This will be the second wave of severe cold.
Forecasters urge citizens to additionally insulate themselves and be prepared for worsening weather conditions. At the same time, they emphasize the importance of mutual support and the organization of local heat sources.
