Ferrari is consulting with NASA on the impact of Luce's acceleration on passengers' brains. The electric car will have 986 hp and an interior designed by a former Apple designer.

Ferrari is preparing its first electric car and needed help with its development. To create the interior, it collaborated with the creative collective LoveFrom, founded by Jony Ive, former chief designer at Apple. The automaker also had to turn to NASA to ensure that the electric car's acceleration would not disturb passengers, writes UNN with reference to Motor1.com.

In an interview with Autocar India, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said that electric cars can accelerate at such a powerful speed that "sometimes it disturbs our brain," so the automaker turned to experts. In addition to working with NASA, medical research was conducted.

According to Vigna, the automaker wanted to find out what level of acceleration causes discomfort in people. Too much acceleration is not always good, and he added that it just makes you wait for "the time when you can stop accelerating."

Despite consultations with NASA and other medical experts, the Ferrari Luce will be fast, the publication writes.

Details on Luce's specifications

With Ferrari slowly bringing its first electric car to market, some preliminary information about the model has already emerged. Back in October, the automaker stated that the electric car would produce over 986 horsepower and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 300 km/h.

It will be equipped with four electric motors and a 122 kilowatt-hour battery. It will have independent rear-wheel steering and active suspension from the Purosangue and F80.

The interior features "buttons and switches." The Luce is expected to debut sometime this year.
