One child was killed and seven others were injured as a result of shelling by Russian troops on August 19-20. As of the morning of August 21 , more than 2,092 young Ukrainians have been injured in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, UNN reports .
According to prosecutors, 8 children were injured on August 19-20:
- On August 19, a 14-year-old girl was wounded as a result of shelling in Kherson .
- On August 20, a 14-year-old boy was wounded in the shelling of Kherson.
- On August 20 as a result of shelling of Malokaterinivka village, Zaporizhzhia district, Zaporizhzhia region, a 14-year-old boy died and 5 children (two girls aged 10 and 11, three boys aged 14, 15 and 17) sustained injuries of varying degrees.
In total, as of the morning of August 21, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 570 children were killed and more than 1,522 were injured of varying severity as a result of Russia's armed aggression.
Children were most affected in the following regions: Donetsk - 578, Kharkiv - 409, Dnipropetrovs'k - 165, Kherson - 170, Kyiv - 133, Zaporizhzhia - 130.
