Details
Drone attacks in Russia have damaged facilities that account for 12% of oil refining capacity. This applies to three facilities in Russia:
- A drone strike on a Lukoil refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region caused a fire yesterday;
- A similar incident occurred the next day, at one of Rosneft's largest refineries in the city of Ryazan;
- The Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the south of the Rostov region of Russia has shut down after a drone strike. This was confirmed in particular by the governor of the region, Vasily Golubev, on Telegram. Bloomberg notes that the facility has a capacity of 5.6 million tons per year, or about 112,000 barrels per day.
These cases emphasize that Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which was supposed to last for several days, is instead leading to increased danger for the Russians themselves.
