Starting from the new school year, students and teachers of Brovary Lyceum No. 1 will be staying in a modern radiation shelter under air alarms. It is designed for 250 people and is equipped with everything you need. This was announced by the mayor of Brovary Ihor Sapozhko on his tg-channel, UNN reports.
Together with the mayor, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Ruslan Kravchenko inspected the new defense facility.
We inspected a new shelter located in Lyceum No. 1 in Brovary. The shelter was built in accordance with all building codes. It is dual-purpose, and after the war is over, after our victory, it can be used for clubs and sports sections
Ihor Sapozhko said that the shelter is equipped with everything necessary.
The anti-radiation shelter is designed for 250 people and is equipped with everything you need: a generator, sanitary facilities, a medical unit, a food storage room, water reserves, and a modern ventilation system. The facility is also adapted for use by people with disabilities
He added that the shelter is ready, all work has been completed and a certificate for the operation of this facility has been obtained.

In the 2023/2024 academic year, Brovary Lyceum No. 1 enrolled 752 students in 32 classes, with a staff of 72. Due to the lack of a shelter, the lyceum was the only community educational institution operating in a mixed format.
Construction of a modern anti-radiation shelter on the lyceum's territory began in August 23.
The cost of the construction works is UAH 27 million 209 thousand, of which UAH 10 million is from the state budget.
