The Defense Forces attacked the "Progress" plant in the Russian city of Cheboksary with FP-5 "Flamingo" missiles, manufactured by the Ukrainian company Fire Point. This was reported by Serhii Sternenko, advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, according to UNN.
In Cheboksary on June 10, the VNIIR-Progress plant, where antennas for protecting Russian missiles and drones from electronic warfare (EW) are produced, was attacked again.
"Tonight, the Defense Forces struck 'VNIIR-Progress' in Cheboksary and the Kuibyshev Refinery in Samara. Cheboksary was hit with FP-5 'Flamingo' missiles. The 'Progress' plant manufactures electromechanical drives, hydraulic systems, and control systems for heavy equipment — ranging from 'Iskander' missile systems," Sternenko wrote on the X social network.
Residents of Cheboksary also filmed the flight of one of the "Flamingo" missiles.
In addition, on the night of June 10, the Kuibyshev Refinery, located more than 900 km from the front line, was attacked. It is one of the largest refineries in the region, part of "Rosneft," producing over 30 types of petroleum products and having a capacity of about 7 million tons per year.
As a reminder
On the night of May 5, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the 19th Missile Brigade, struck an enterprise located more than 900 km from the Ukrainian border. FP-5 "Flamingo" cruise missiles were used for the attack, and in the morning, the facility was further attacked by long-range drones.
The most important products of the enterprise are the "Kometa-M" jam-resistant satellite navigation antennas. These specific components provide navigation for Russian strike weapons.
They are used in "Shahed" type drones, guided aerial bombs (KABs), reconnaissance UAVs, as well as in Kh-101 cruise missiles and "Iskander" ballistic missiles.
