In the Chelyabinsk region on Friday, July 26, a dam at the Kialymskoye reservoir burst due to a sharp rise in water levels caused by prolonged heavy rains. The dam was washed away on a section of 100 meters, the total length of the structure is 500 meters, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations said, UNN reports .

Several kilometers of the Miass-Karabash-Kyshtym highway have been flooded, and traffic is blocked.
A state of emergency has been declared in the Karabakh urban district. According to the operational headquarters of the district, the villages of Kiolim, Mukhametovo, Karasayevo, Baidashevo and Saktaevo are in the flood zone.
Their total population is about 200 people. Videos posted on social media show local residents fleeing from the approaching water in the attics and roofs of their homes. Rescue services are organizing the evacuation of three settlements, one of which is completely flooded.
According to preliminary reports, no one was injured or killed.
All residents of the district are asked to stock up on fresh water, be prepared for a power outage, and gather their belongings and documents in case of a possible evacuation.
The Kialym Reservoir was created in 1979 at the confluence of the Indishta River and the Bolshoi Kialym River and is a drinking source for the city of Karabash, located eight kilometers from the reservoir.
