Czech Senate recognizes deportation of Crimean Tatars as an act of genocide

The Czech Senate has recognized the mass deportation of Crimean Tatars as an act of genocide. The decision was supported by 70 senators out of 76 present, joining other countries that had previously made a similar recognition.

Today, on December 18, the Czech Senate recognized the mass deportation of Crimean Tatars as an act of genocide, said the head of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Maria Mezentseva, reports UNN

Decision of the Czech Senate to recognize the deportation of Crimean Tatars from Crimea as an #actofgenocide. Unanimously!!! 76 - present; 70 - in favor. Mustafa Dzhemilev takes the floor from the delegation. The Senate gives a standing ovation

In October of this year, the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia (Riigikogu) recognized the mass deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944 as an act of genocide, 

 Earlier, the deportation of Crimean Tatars was recognized as genocide in Ukraine, Latvia,  Lithuania and Canada
