Cabbage is becoming the most expensive vegetable in the borscht set in Ukraine - there is a rather limited supply of high-quality white cabbage on the market, and selling prices in this segment continue to grow rapidly, according to analysts of the EastFruit project, UNN reports.

According to analysts, while last week the price for high-quality white cabbage in Ukraine was 22 UAH/kg ($0.52/kg), today farmers are ready to sell this product at 25-35 UAH/kg ($0.60-0.84/kg), which is on average 16% more expensive than at the end of the last working week.

It is noted that the supply of white cabbage on the market is quite limited, as many farms prefer not to rush into sales, as they do not rule out that prices for this product may continue to rise in the coming weeks. At the same time, wholesalers are very interested in purchasing cabbage and are ready to increase their purchase prices.
It is noted that today the price of white cabbage in Ukraine is already on average 3 times higher than in the same period in 2023, and most market participants predict further price increases. They justify their opinion by the decline in production of this product in the country, as well as a significant reduction in the share of products suitable for long-term storage.
