British defense company BAE Systems has signed a licensing agreement with a strategic defense partner in Ukraine for the production of L119 Light Gun artillery systems on the territory of the country. This is reported on the company's website, writes UNN.
Details
It is noted that the agreement provides for the transfer of technical documentation and necessary support to the Ukrainian side for the manufacture of the first L119 unit for testing purposes. The partnership will also facilitate the development of a special version of the 105-mm light howitzer L119, adapted to the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The company noted that the agreement is a continuation of long-term cooperation with Ukraine and the Ukrainian defense industry, aimed at developing its own production capabilities and strengthening the state's defense capability.
BAE Systems also reported further investments in artillery production in the UK, in particular the restoration of capacities for the manufacture of 105 mm and 155 mm artillery barrels for Ukraine.
