The head of the British government stated that he ordered the Armed Forces to intercept a "shadow fleet" oil tanker attempting to transit the English Channel. Starmer stated that this operation was another blow to Russia for its war against Ukraine.
"This successful operation deals another blow to Russia and serves as a reminder to those fueling Putin's war in Ukraine that we will not allow them to hide. I want to thank everyone involved in this operation, including our Armed Forces and law enforcement officers, who ensure the security of this country 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,"
