Belarus should settle the issue of drones in its airspace with Russia, because it was Russian attack UAVs that flew the route through Belarus. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Siversk operational and tactical group Vadym Mysnyk on Radio Liberty (Svoboda.Ranok project), UNN reports.
According to Mysnyk, such drone routes have been recorded "recently.
"They may be shooting down something in their own air, because in recent days, a week ago, two weeks ago, it was recorded repeatedly that Russian attack drones were flying through Chernihiv region and further into Belarus along these routes. There have been such cases. So they have to deal with Russia among themselves," said Misnyk.
He noted that the operational situation on the border with Belarus has not changed.
The defense system covers Ukraine's borders with both Belarus and Russia. The defense forces are ready for defense and have already taken into account the experience of a full-scale offensive.
"There have been no significant changes in the operational situation on the border with Belarus in Chernihiv region. We are closely monitoring the developments. We have repeatedly heard statements from the military and political leadership of Belarus about various intensifications of their actions or checks of combat readiness, and so on. But we are closely following not words, but actions. We do not make exceptions. We are building a unified defense system, both on the part of Russia and Belarus. It has been created, it has been strengthened, and we are taking into account the experience of previous events," said Misnik.
AddendumAddendum
On August 11, Demchenko reported that the situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border remained stable and fully controlled, but tensions were rising again due to the activation of Belarus, which was "playing along" with Russia's interests.
Context
Lukashenka claimed that on August 9, air defense systems shot down several targets, presumably drones, over the territory of Belarus. According to him, they came from Ukraine, but he did not provide evidence.
Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin has since stated that Belarus is reinforcing troop groups in areas near the border with Ukraine, including sending Iskanders and MLRSs.
