The government has amended the list of critical infrastructure sectors, allowing energy storage systems to be classified as critical infrastructure. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, according to UNN.

According to him, this decision allows for the strengthening of their protection and increases the resilience of the energy system as a whole.
He noted that energy storage systems are actively developing, especially in the face of constant Russian attacks on the energy sector.
In Ukraine, energy storage systems with a total capacity of over 500 MW have already been installed, and technical specifications have been issued for the installation of more than 1,000 MW.
