Buildings near the railway station in the southern German state of Bavaria were evacuated as a precaution after police reported that an object found on the tracks might contain explosives, UNN writes, citing DW.

According to the Middle Franconia police, emergency services evacuated the directly affected buildings, while federal police specialists continued examining the object.
A technician discovered the suspicious object on the railway tracks near the entrance to the station in the town of Treuchtlingen.
Specialists have already conducted an X-ray examination of the object, but police said that further examinations were necessary, as the possibility of an explosive hazard had not yet been ruled out.
Police reported that a robot was used to interact with the object for further examination.
Road and rail traffic remain closed while the investigation continues. Regional services have been affected, with trains stopping earlier at the relevant stations. Replacement buses and large-capacity taxis have been arranged.
Intercity trains were rerouted via the city of Ingolstadt. Police urged people to avoid the area and choose alternative routes.
As n-tv reports, police eventually stated that no explosives had been found on the object. However, they suspected that it had been deliberately placed there as a dummy device.
