Almost 80% of Ukrainians oppose holding elections without a peace agreement and a complete end to the war. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), writes UNN.
... if we have a temporary truce without security guarantees, then 77% are against elections and choose the option that elections should only be "after receiving security guarantees or a final peace agreement and a complete end to the war." At the same time, 8% answered that elections should be held in such conditions, and 11% answered that elections should be held right now, without even waiting for a truce. That is, in general, 19% support holding elections now or in the event of a truce, even without security guarantees.
Also, 78% of respondents are against elections even in the event of a truce with security guarantees, if there is no final peace agreement and a complete end to the war. In general, 19% support holding elections (after a truce with security guarantees or even right now).
Support for holding elections is closely related to trust in the President. Thus, those who do not trust the President are more likely to support holding elections. At the same time, even among them, 50% do not support it (46% support elections). Among those who trust the President, 90% are against holding elections (8% support holding them).
Let us remind you
Special Representative of US President Donald Trump for the Middle East Steve Witkoff said that holding elections for a new head of state in Ukraine is a "necessary step".
