Russia uses videos of interrogations of Ukrainian prisoners of war as a tool of information warfare to demoralize them. Military personnel in captivity may give testimony under pressure that does not reflect their true position.

The video of interrogations of Ukrainian prisoners of war distributed by Russia is part of the information war waged by the aggressor. This is emphasized by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, UNN reports.

"Hostile videos of interrogations of Ukrainian servicemen who have been captured are part of the information war waged by the aggressor. The dissemination of such materials is used to demoralize the Ukrainian military and civilians in order to influence public opinion, both inside and outside Ukraine. Through such interrogations, the enemy is trying to spread propaganda narratives, creating the illusion of "distrust" in the military and political leadership of the state, the Ukrainian Defense Forces or the "surrender" of territories," the Air Force said.

It is noted that this is also used to justify aggression on the part of the enemy.

"The videos may contain statements taken out of context or inaccurate facts that can be interpreted in favor of the enemy. In this way, the aggressor is trying to form false ideas about the situation at the front and the general mood in Ukrainian society," the statement said.

The Air Force emphasizes that it should be remembered that military personnel who have been captured may testify under physical or psychological pressure.

"Under interrogation by the aggressor, they may be forced to voice what is imposed on them, without reflecting their true opinion or position. This is not evidence of betrayal or lack of patriotism, but rather the result of difficult conditions of captivity. It is important to be cautious and critical of the videos disseminated by the enemy. It is necessary to realize that these materials may be partially or completely falsified," the statement said.
