After another Russian attack on warehouses with textbooks, Minister of Education and Science Andriy Butenko stated that all students will have access to electronic versions of textbooks. He reported this on Facebook, writes UNN.
Last night, Russia again struck Ukrainian cities. There are dead and wounded. I extend my condolences to the families and loved ones of all those taken by this attack. One of the targets was a warehouse of educational literature, where textbooks printed and packaged for schools were stored
Butenko noted that, according to preliminary data, two Shahed drones hit the warehouse. The fire area is over 9,000 square meters.
He added that the scale of losses will be assessed together with the publishing house and the Institute for Modernization of Educational Content.
The minister reminded that this is the second such attack in two weeks: in July, the Russians destroyed over 410,000 textbooks for this year's schoolchildren.
Warehouses and printing houses are deliberately chosen as targets - along with the print runs, they are trying to destroy the Ukrainian language, history, and memory - everything from which the identity of our children grows
Butenko also emphasized that electronic versions of textbooks will be available to all students: "We are doing everything to ensure that the school year starts on time and the educational process proceeds without obstacles."
