In Kyiv, a VAZ driver failed to yield the right of way to a BMW, resulting in a collision that sent the latter onto the shoulder where it struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian died from their injuries in the ambulance. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, according to UNN.

An investigative team for road accidents from the Kyiv police headquarters and patrol officers are working at the scene. All circumstances are being established. The accident occurred at the intersection of General Almazov and Kniaziv Ostrozkykh streets.

It was established that on June 5, 2026, at around 5:00 PM, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz was traveling along Chokolivskyi Boulevard at an excessive speed. On a curved section of the road, he veered off the roadway and crashed into an underpass where people were present.
As a result of the accident, four pedestrians – two district police officers, a woman, and a 12-year-old boy – died at the scene. Three other people sustained physical injuries.
