A drone carrying explosives was discovered at the German airport in Leipzig near a Ukrainian cargo plane. Law enforcement officials are treating the incident as a possible crime against state security and are not ruling out sabotage. Bild reports, according to UNN.

According to the publication, the airport’s operations were immediately suspended and flights were diverted. As a result, one cargo plane was forced to make a go-around. According to BILD, shortly afterward, approximately 6 kilometers from the airport at an altitude of 400 meters, it collided with an unknown object. The plane landed in Hanover, where minor damage was found in the front section.
The Lower Saxony police classified the incident as a crime concerning state security. A possible sabotage attack has not been ruled out. The Lower Saxony and Saxony police are conducting the investigation in parallel. The search for the drone operator has so far yielded no results.
