The Security Service of Ukraine reported that it prevented a double terrorist attack in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk, writes UNN.
The counterintelligence of the Security Service thwarted a terrorist attack by Russian special services in Ivano-Frankivsk. As a result of proactive measures, it was possible to prevent a double explosion in the courtyard of a residential complex in the central part of the city
According to SBU counterintelligence data, "the first explosion was supposed to occur through remote activation of an improvised bomb in the parking lot. The second explosion was planned after the arrival of emergency services at the scene."
"It has been established that the preparation of the terrorist attack was carried out by a local unemployed person who came to the attention of Russian special services when he was looking for 'easy money' on Telegram channels, - reported the SBU. - After conducting agent instruction, the suspect rented an apartment with a view of the site of the planned explosions. Then he covertly placed a phone connected to a power bank in the courtyard so that the curators from the russian federation could choose the location of the future explosion. Next, he purchased components for improvised explosive devices (IEDs)."
As indicated by the SBU, "it was documented how the Russian special services gave the agent instructions to disguise the IEDs as kitchen pots. In each of the containers, he was to place 6 kg of explosive substance, connect detonators, and fill them with hundreds of metal bolts for greater damage."
"According to the enemy's instructions, the suspect was to place the first IED between civilian cars in the parking lot. After the explosion and the arrival of local residents, law enforcement officers, ambulances, and rescuers at the scene, the russians planned to remotely detonate the second explosive device with shrapnel, disguised nearby," - noted the SBU.
The SBU counterintelligence, as reported, not only prevented the terrorist attack but also documented the entire process of its preparation and identified the employees of the russian special services involved in planning the crime.
