Medical workers in Ukraine are obliged to provide services in the Ukrainian language, regardless of the institution's form of ownership. Switching to another language is possible only by mutual consent of the doctor and the patient. This was reported by the representative of the State Language Protection Commissioner, Krystyna Holovachova, according to UNN.

The Secretariat of the Language Ombudsman noted that they received a complaint against a dentist at a clinic in Dnipro for using a non-state language while serving a patient. Following an inspection, a report on an administrative offense was drawn up.

The Ombudsman's office reminded that according to Article 33 of the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Functioning of Ukrainian as the State Language," the language in the sphere of healthcare, medical assistance, and medical services is Ukrainian.
This norm applies to all medical institutions – state, municipal, and private.
