Law enforcement officers detained a 19-year-old citizen who was traveling to Moldova as a passenger in a car, having concealed almost three kilograms of psychotropic substances.
During an inspection of the vehicle and the passenger’s personal belongings, border guards discovered nine cans that had contained stewed pork. The woman had attempted to use them to secretly transport a prohibited substance across the border.
The cans containing the substance have since been confiscated. The woman was detained pursuant to Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Criminal proceedings have been initiated in this case under Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, "Smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors, or counterfeit medicines."
