A man in Vinnytsia was sentenced to 15 years in prison for helping Russia plan missile strikes. He was found guilty of high treason.

A resident of Vinnytsia, who helped the enemy prepare missile attacks on the regional center, was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General's Office, according to UNN.

Under the public prosecutors of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident was found guilty of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property

Prosecutors in court proved that the man consciously agreed to cooperate with the Russian Federal Security Service. He assisted the enemy special service in preparing missile attacks on Vinnytsia.

To do this, he collected and passed on to Russia information about military and civilian infrastructure, their addresses, operating hours and security.

As noted, from May to June 2023, the convict observed the territory of one of the of the defense industry, studied the locations of checkpoints, recorded the facts of entry and exit of military military equipment. He also used special software to scan Wi-Fi networks and mobile communication towers near strategic military facilities in Vinnytsia.

The data obtained with with photographic evidence and electronic maps was sent by the convict to his curator from the FSB of the Russian Federation. He confirmed their receipt and use in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. subversive activities against Ukraine.

Law enforcement officers detained a man during a routine surveillance of a defense enterprise and seized material evidence of the crime.

He was kept in custody until the court sentence was kept in custody until the verdict.  In court, the convicted did not admit his guilt.
