Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Maguchikh won a gold medal in the high jump at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. She cleared a height of 2.02 meters on her third attempt, which was the decisive moment of the competition.
Her main rival, Australian Nicola Olislagers, failed to clear this height in three attempts, which ensured Maguchikh's victory thanks to her better result at the previous height of 2 meters.
Even after two unsuccessful attempts at 2.02 meters, Yaroslava decided to raise the bar to 2.04 meters, but this did not affect her well-deserved victory.
