Russian state energy companies may be involved in the displacement of Ukrainian children during the war. This is stated in a Yale University study, reported by Reuters, and conveyed by UNN.

According to analysts, the companies "Rosneft" and "Gazprom" may have supported the operation of camps where over 2,000 Ukrainian children were taken between 2022 and 2025. This includes both funding and assistance with transportation.
The report notes that a total of about 2,158 children were in such camps in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in Russia, where, among other things, they underwent programs with pro-Russian content.

At the same time, Reuters notes that it was unable to independently confirm the data presented in the report.
In response to journalists' inquiries, "Gazprom" stated that the company owns sanatoriums where Russian children vacation. "Rosneft" denied involvement in any illegal activities, stating that the study contains no evidence of the company's participation in war crimes.
The Russian side traditionally denies the forced removal of Ukrainian children, claiming that they were allegedly evacuated for security reasons.
According to the report, some children received vouchers for camps through subsidiaries of "Gazprom" and trade union organizations associated with "Rosneft."
In light of these findings, some American lawmakers are calling for the reinstatement of sanctions against the mentioned companies.
