In the Kyiv region, a woman attempted self-immolation near a court building. She did so against the backdrop of a court dispute with her husband over child custody rights. The woman suffered 70% burns to her body and was hospitalized. This was reported by the Main Department of the National Police in the region on July 18, UNN reports.

"On July 18, around 4 p.m., court security officers noticed a citizen dousing herself with a flammable substance near the court building. The guards tried to stop her, but the woman set herself on fire," the police said on Facebook.
One of the employees, as indicated, immediately began to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher. An ambulance was immediately called to the scene.
"Upon arrival of the medics, the woman was conscious, but she suffered about 70% of her body burns. She was immediately taken to the hospital," the police said.
According to preliminary information, the woman and her husband were resolving the issue of child custody in court.
