President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky convened a meeting where directions for more intensive work with the European Union were determined, and priorities were set, one of which is that Ukraine is working specifically toward full membership in the EU, reports UNN.

According to Zelensky, together with Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi, new Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Vsevolod Chentsov, and relevant deputy heads of the Office, Serhiy Kyslytsia and Ihor Zhovkva, they agreed on three priorities that must be implemented going forward.
First: Ukraine is working specifically toward full membership in the European Union, and we view this not only as a political or economic task, but as a security task – both for us and for the EU. It is precisely with Ukraine's accession to the EU that the geopolitical uncertainty that Russia has used for decades to sow destabilization in both Ukraine and the EU is removed. On the other hand, together with Ukrainian strength, the EU gains the necessary security capabilities, which allows strengthening the European component of the Euro-Atlantic community
Second, according to Zelensky, "we must already now use to the maximum all opportunities for Ukraine's sectoral integration into the European Union. Ukraine must be perceived by all Europeans as an integral part of familiar European processes, and this should drive our political movement and the decisions of leaders and countries."
Third: of course, we must build relations at all levels in such a way that Ukraine receives the necessary packages and decisions to support resilience for this winter. Relations with Brussels and European institutions, European capitals, and communities in European countries must be practical – about what can truly support the protection of life in Ukraine.
