Kurakhove in Donetsk region is under the control of the Ukrainian military. There is a concentration of Russian military reserves in the Kurakhove direction and near the town. This was announced by the spokesman of the Khortytsia military command Nazar Voloshin during a telethon, UNN reports .
“In the Kurakhove sector, this town (Kurakhove - ed.) is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but the enemy does not give up trying, our military are actively fighting to hold their positions. The situation is certainly complicated due to the enemy's significant advantage in manpower,” Voloshyn said.
According to him, in the Kurakhove sector, the enemy conducted active assault operations on the southeastern outskirts of the city and in particular in the urban area of the southern part of Kurakhove.
“Of course, there is a concentration of personnel reserves in the Kurakhove direction and near the city,” Voloshyn said.
He noted that the enemy's forces are operating against the Defense Forces there:
-90th Tank Division;
-20th motorized rifle division;
-5 and 110th motorized rifle brigades.
“It is important for the enemy to level the front line in this area, as it will allow them to regroup and withdraw some units for recuperation, and then concentrate them for further offensive in this area, just like in the Pokrovsk sector. That is, the enemy's task is to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” said Voloshyn.

The Khortytsia military unit reported that Russian troops tried to improve their tactical position near Storozheve, Dachenske and Zelenivka yesterday, December 15, but retreated with losses. At the same time, the enemy was actively attacking in the area of Novyi Komar, in the urban areas of Chasovyi Yar and the southern part of Kurakhove.
