Venezuelan authorities have released 225 people who were arrested during protests against the controversial re-election of President Nicolas Maduro in July. Local human rights organizations confirmed a significant number of the releases as of yesterday evening.
For example, the release from Las Crisalidas (Miranda state) was confirmed by the Venezuelan Observatory of Prisoners (OVP). The group published videos of young women leaving the prison and greeting their loved ones waiting at the gate with tears in their eyes.
