The Pentagon has released details of US President Donald Trump's request for a $1.5 trillion defense budget for fiscal year 2027. This was reported by Reuters, writes UNN.

This is the largest annual increase in defense spending since World War II.
About $750 billion is allocated for ships, aviation, and missile defense, including the "Iron Dome" system.

The budget also separately allocates a category for "presidential priorities," which includes the development of drones, artificial intelligence, data infrastructure, and the defense industrial base.
Weapons and equipment
Over $65 billion is allocated for shipbuilding – 18 combat and 16 auxiliary ships are planned for purchase. The purchase of F-35 fighters will increase to 85 units per year, and total aviation spending will amount to $102 billion.

Separately, $6.1 billion is allocated for the B-21 bomber and funding for the development of new aircraft, including the F-47.
$53.6 billion will be allocated for autonomous unmanned platforms, and another $21 billion for ammunition and anti-drone technologies. Funding for autonomous warfare programs will increase to approximately $54 billion.
Other provisions
The budget provides for an increase in military salaries and an increase in the army's strength by 44,000 people.
At the same time, funding for the conflict with Iran is not included in the document – a separate budget request may be required for this.
