From February 24, 2022, to November 30 this year, more than 12,340 people were killed and more than 27,836 injured among the civilian population of Ukraine due to Russian aggression. This was announced by UN Under-Secretary-General, High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu at a UN Security Council meeting on Friday, UNN reports.

"Between February 24, 2022 and November 30, 2024, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recorded more than 12,340 civilians killed and more than 27,836 injured in Ukraine," Nakamitsu said.
Nakamitsu also emphasized the noticeable spike in bomb casualties.
"According to the verified data of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, between January 1 and November 30, 2024, 341 civilians were killed and 1803 injured as a result of aerial bombardment," she said.
This means "a threefold increase in the number of deaths and a sixfold increase in the number of injuries from air strikes compared to 2023.
"42 percent of casualties in Ukraine in November were caused by long-range weapons launched by the Russian Federation, a significant increase from previous months," Nakamitsu told the Security Council.

In December, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has lost 43 thousand soldiers who died on the battlefield. There were also 370 thousand cases of assistance to the wounded. Russia's losses amounted to 750 thousand soldiers, including 198 thousand killed.
