Starting next week, Ukrzaliznytsia will launch online ticket sales to Austria and Hungary. This is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of UZ.

On March 18, Ukrzaliznytsia launches online ticket sales to Austria and Hungary. At the first stage, online tickets will be available for the route Ukraine - Austria and back
It is noted that tickets can be purchased through the Ukrzaliznytsia app, and for the direct Kyiv-Vienna train, account verification through Diia.Signature will be required.
At the second stage, tickets will also be available online for Ukraine-Hungary trains transiting to Austria via Hungary, i.e. Kyiv-Budapest-Vienna and Chop-Budapest-Vienna.

UZ adds that direct connections between Ukraine and Hungary (Mukachevo - Debrecen, Mukachevo - Budapest, Chop - Záhony) will appear in the app a little later.

To prepare for online ticket sales, starting tomorrow, Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily suspends ticket sales through the ticket office for the direct train Kyiv - Vienna - Kyiv for departure dates starting March 18
Preliminary, the restriction will last until the opening of online sales. That is, on March 18, ticket sales will resume to the full depth of sales (20 days) online.
At the same time, the temporary restriction will not affect the train Chop - Vienna - Chop. As of now, tickets for the train Chop - Vienna and back are available for virtually all dates.

In 2023 , 84.6% of railway tickets were sold online through the services of Ukrzaliznytsia and its partners. The use of the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application also increased by 23.2% to 37.9%.
