During the offensive in the Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have advanced into the depths of the enemy's defense from 28 to 35 km, seized 1263 square kilometers of territory and took control of 93 settlements. In the north of Ukraine, the enemy continues to shell border settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv regions, conducts armed provocations and subversive and reconnaissance activities. In order to create a security zone and stop the shelling of civilian objects in Sumy region from the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as to outrun the enemy, the Defense Forces are conducting offensive defense in the Kursk sector. Syrsky emphasized that the enemy is conducting a maneuverable defense, trying to prevent further advancement of the Defense Forces units deep into the territory of the Russian Federation, building up groups and moving troops from other directions.
He also noted that further actions of our troops in this area will depend on the development of the operational situation.

Today the number of enemy attacks on the frontline has reached 87. The enemy is most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where 34 attacks were made, 24 of which have already been repelled by Ukrainian troops. In the Toretsk sector, 14 attacks were recorded, with New York, Nelipivka, Toretsk and Zalizne in the enemy's sights.
