The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide Ukraine with 30 million euros for the first stage of restoring the New Safe Confinement at the Chornobyl NPP. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, UNN reports.

According to him, based on preliminary estimates, the cost of restoring and strengthening the security of the confinement after a Russian drone strike in February 2025 is approximately 500 million euros.
Within the framework of the conference, an agreement was signed with the EBRD for 30 million euros for the first stage of the confinement restoration—damage assessment, development of solutions, and design, which allows for the commencement of necessary work and the advance procurement of equipment
He specified that partners have undertaken initial commitments totaling nearly 100 million euros, which will be directed toward restoring the safe confinement at the Chornobyl NPP and enhancing nuclear safety in Ukraine.
"Following the conference, a joint statement was adopted in which partner countries supported Ukraine's efforts to mobilize resources for the restoration of the confinement. 24 countries joined the statement," the official added.
