Ukraine to increase accessibility of prostheses and orthoses for victims of Russian aggression: what will change

 • 2078 переглядiв

In Ukraine, the accessibility of prostheses and orthoses for children and adults – civilians affected by Russian aggression – will be increased. The relevant decision was made at a government meeting. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, as reported by UNN.

What exactly is changing:

🔸the amount of state compensation for the cost has been increased - a twofold maximum cost for prostheses and orthoses has been established;

🔸for the first time, access to upper limb prostheses with an external power source (bionic/myoelectric) is provided - previously, children were not provided with them;

🔸regular replacement of prosthetic sockets up to 3-5 times a year due to the rapid growth of the child has been regulated;

🔸children will also be provided with two types of multifunctional wheelchairs depending on their needs.

Svyrydenko emphasized that the algorithm for obtaining a product or compensation has not been changed - it is still regulated by CMU Resolution No. 321.

How to get it:

  • an application can be submitted in paper form through the ASC or online - together with the necessary documents. Then the application is considered by the territorial department of the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities. Decisions will be made within three working days, after which the Fund will form a referral and pay compensation.;
    • after receiving confirmation from the Fund, parents or legal representatives can contact the chosen manufacturer to receive or order the product;
      • the replacement of the prosthetic socket will be administered through a repair application, which must also be submitted to the territorial department of the Fund.

        Recall
