Denmark has ordered four SAMP/T NG systems for 1.47 billion euros with delivery in 2028. Ukraine currently does not have an official contract for these air defense systems.

Denmark has signed a contract for the purchase of advanced SAMP/T NG air defense systems, while there is no official order for these systems for Ukraine yet. This is reported by Defense Express, writes UNN.

Details

These are systems capable of intercepting ballistic targets, which is critically important for Ukrainian air defense.

Denmark has signed an agreement worth 1.47 billion euros, which provides for the supply of four SAMP/T NG systems along with missiles, training, and maintenance. Deliveries are expected from 2028. The country has become the third operator of the system after France and Italy.

Despite previously announced plans to transfer eight such systems to Ukraine, a firm contract has not yet been concluded. At the same time, Denmark's appearance in the queue may affect delivery times, given the limited production capabilities.

Possible scenarios

According to experts, Ukraine may receive these systems out of turn or within separate agreements without public announcement. The option of transferring one of the systems manufactured for other customers is also being considered.

SAMP/T NG can be equipped with various radars. The French Ground Fire 300 has a longer detection range and can track more targets, while the Italian Kronos GM HP provides higher accuracy.

According to estimates, Ukraine may receive the French version, but the use of the Italian version to speed up deliveries is not ruled out.
