Ukraine is working on creating its own air defense system together with European partners. A number of countries with a powerful defense sector are planned to be involved in the project. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this to journalists, as reported by UNN.
According to the president, the current air defense deficit remains a serious challenge.
There is not enough air defense. We have just signed a cool package with Germany, but the terms there strategically strengthen us, and tactically the deficit needs to be covered by something else
Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is already working on a new defense project.
We will work on air defense, on Ukrainian or Ukrainian-European, or simply our domestic air defense with European countries that have strong companies – the President stated.
Among the countries with which cooperation is planned, he named Norway, Germany, and the Netherlands.
