At night and in the morning of July 27, GUR drones attacked three Russian military airfields - Engels in Saratov region, Diagilevo in Ryazan region, and Olenya in Murmansk region. According to eyewitnesses, the first explosions on the territory of the military airfield in Dyahylyovo occurred around six in the morning local time. Social media reports that they heard the sounds of at least three explosions.
Local users also post videos of drones flying in the direction of the airfield, followed by a picture of a column of black smoke rising above the military facility.
The airfield is reportedly home to the 43rd center for combat use and retraining of enemy aircrew. In particular, Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, Tu-134UBL and Il-78 aircraft are based there, as well as an aircraft repair plant.
The explosions at the Engels airfield, where Russian strategic aviation is stationed, occurred around 8 a.m. Local public reports indicate that Russian air defense forces tried unsuccessfully to shoot down the UAV, but that the characteristic "arrival" explosions followed.
As a result of an airplane-type UAV hitting the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region, a long-range supersonic bomber-missile carrier TU-22M3 was preliminarily damaged. It is noted that the Olenya airfield is located at a distance of about 1800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of War stated that at least 12 kamikaze drones were shot down over the territory of Russia: in Kursk, Belgorod, Rostov, Bryansk and Lipetsk regions.
